Freshwater (FW) scarcity as a result of prolonged drought has reduced FW availability to agriculture in the arid west Texas region order meet demands from other sectors. Alternatively, there is enormous potential utilize treated urban wastewater (TWW) for agricultural irrigation. However, soil salinization TWW concern it can be detrimental crops and quality. Alternative that are both less water-intensive salt-tolerant therefore needed sustain this region's agriculture. Switchgrass perennial grass well adapted grow on marginal lands novel crop lignocellulosic bioenergy feedstock. its performance when irrigated with soils far largely unknown. This field study evaluated yield composition switchgrass biomass affected by along quality changes, using split-plot experimental design. Results indicate yields were not irrigation no significant differences between across years. With respect composition, cellulose lignin contents lower, while ash content was significantly higher treatment. Theoretical ethanol production affected.
